An innovative process learned from nature

Our technology

Our biocementation technology is based on the natural process of limestone production by organic microorganism's.

Living cells

It all starts with the cultivation of specific microbes, or living cells, found in the natural environment. These microbes create organic cement, such as seashells and limestone. Learning from this natural process, our cultivated microbes are used to produce a powdered media that forms the basis of Conbiocrete’s bio-cement material.

Self-healing reaction

Our powdered bio-cementation mix is combined with specified amounts of water to produce a self-healing reaction in ambient temperature conditions. The solution’s low viscosity allows it to penetrate deeply and build microscopic ‘bridges’ inside hard-to-reach internal cracks, fine pores, and between sand or soil grains to achieve large-scale stabilisation.

Bio-cementation

The result is natural cementation that can stabilise, strengthen, and repair man-made or organic material such as concrete, sand, and soil. The best part is that our bio-cementation is non-toxic and suitable for use in almost any construction environment where strength, repair, protection or stabilisation is needed.

The science of sustainability

Harnessing this technology, we’ve created eco-friendly solutions that tackle the problems associated with concrete repair, maintenance and protection, and sand and soil stabilisation.
